Do you follow @maryvangeffen? (If you don't, you should.)

A while back, Mary asked if she could send me an early copy of her new book…

Parenting a Spicy One.

I told her I'd actually already preordered it, but would be happy to get an early copy.

I, of course, assumed it would be a good book. Mary's been one of my fave follows for spicy kids for a while now.

But honestly?

I thought it would mostly end up being just another parenting book I could add to my ever-growing stack.

Boy was I wrong.

I've been around the block with parenting books and the second I opened this one, I knew it was DIFFERENT.

If you have a spicy kid, you know how hard (re: nearly impossible) it is to find solid information, help, and tools that actually work for your spicy kid in ways that are practical.

You know how annoying it is when all the parenting advice falls short for your kid, or even makes things worse… again.

And you know the quiet rage that bubbles up inside you, when parenting experts, coaches, or therapists talk down to you like you're an idiot when you're just trying your very best, beyond exhausted, and actually know so much more than they often assume or give you credit for.

Mary's book is NOT any of that.

It's honestly unlike any parenting book I've seen.

It's deeply refreshing. Soaked in empathy for not only your spicy kid, but for YOU, too.

After flipping through it for only a few seconds, I immediately was like “oh! I love that idea!” and also “wait - why am I full-on tearing up right now??”

If you've been around this account for like 2 seconds you know how strongly I believe that the revolution our world needs starts when moms are finally given the SUPPORT they need.

And that's what this book is: real support for real moms with real spicy kids. FINALLY. So hell ya Ima shout it from the rooftops.

Preorders end in a few days and preorders are one of the MOST important indicators of success for a new book.
