Hi jam, It’s been another quarter of rolling out exciting features and increased functionality to InfluxDB and Telegraf. Here’s a recap of releases over the last few months. InfluxDB 3 Core and Enterprise
Leverage the new quick-start functionality to initialize your instances with just a single command. Go from download to a fully operational database in seconds using traditional defaults.
Get precise control over your cluster operations. Manually manage individual nodes to perform controlled shutdowns, freeing up licensed cores on demand and enabling maintenance workflows that won't disrupt your operations. Tightened Security Stronger token permissions prevent unintended access to the internal system database, and configurable TLS verification enables safe object store connections. Faster Installation & Configuration A new Docker Compose installation option is now available. Install and launch both InfluxDB 3 and InfluxDB 3 Explorer in a single step—complete with automatic configuration—so you can immediately start managing, ingesting, and querying data through an intuitive interface.
InfluxDB Explorer Dashboards Leverage the new quick-start functionality to initialize your instances with just a single command. Go from download to a fully operational database in seconds using traditional defaults. Cache Querying InfluxDB 3 Core and Enterprise’s built-in Last Value and Distinct Value Caches eliminate costly full-table scans by providing immediate access to a time series' most recent or unique values. You can now use the Schema Browser within the Data Explorer to easily query those values. Ask AI (Beta) Ask AI is a new beta feature that brings natural language to time series analysis. Plug in your API key, and Ask AI lets you query your data, review InfluxDB 3 documentation, and perform administrative tasks—all from natural language commands.
A new “Enable Monitoring” action configures your InfluxDB 3 Core or Enterprise system to begin collecting host-level metrics for the infrastructure running InfluxDB 3. A built-in (to Explorer) dashboard tracks these metrics alongside database activity over time. Custom Instructions You can now configure Custom Instructions for your databases to make the natural language search and Ask AI features more effective and powerful. Read the Blog, Read Docs, Download Explorer Telegraf Labels and Selectors Telegraf now has a powerful new feature that lets you add labels to plugins and enable or disable plugins dynamically at startup using label selectors, giving you runtime flexibility without configuration file changes. New Plugins Access more data sources and destinations with new Telegraf plugins from both community submissions and InfluxData development, including input plugins for Loki LogQL, NFTables, PromQL, Google Cloud Secret Manager, HashiCorp Vault secret store, & Timex. There is also a new output plugin for ARC-DB. With dynamic plugin control and expanded integrations, Telegraf becomes even more extensible, letting you collect, enrich, and route data exactly where you need it. Access the Plugin Library, Read 1.37 release notes Telegraf Enterprise (Coming Soon) Telegraf Enterprise is a premium, enterprise-grade offering that combines Telegraf Controller, an easy-to-use user interface for managing Telegraf deployments, with an Enterprise Support Contract for Telegraf. This enterprise offering will be available soon. Telegraf Controller Private Alpha Telegraf Controller is currently in private alpha.
