The Horny Comforts of a Cottage Romance |
The cure for winter blues? Some good old-fashioned screen time, and maybe living vicariously through film and TV characters stealing away to a cottage for a romantic interlude. In the finale of Heated Rivalry, Russian hockey player Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie) tells Canadian fellow athlete Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams), “I’m coming to the cottage,” referring to the lakefront home where Shane invites Ilya to spend the offseason with him. Ilya isn’t the only one who accepted an invitation to the cottage. In the new season of Bridgerton, Benedict Bridgerton and Sophie (Yerin Ha) also find themselves in a cottage (read: country estate) romance. VF’s Savannah Walsh breaks down why a cottage, or small mansion in Heated Rivalry’s case, is such a seductive place to land when in love.
Elsewhere in HWD, Erin Vanderhoof has the lowdown on Anne Hathaway’s new show with Vanity Fair; José Criales-Unzueta explains which celebrities get paid to wear what, and why it matters; Wagner Moura speaks to Wisdom Iheanyichukwu about his Globes look and what The Secret Agent’s warm reception means to him; and Aidan McLaughlin on the prediction markets infiltrating American culture. |
