Credit: Reuters / Hengaw Organization for Human Rights | Trump has threatened Iran with "very strong action" if it executes protesters. The relatives of 26-year-old Erfan Soltani, who was detained last week, told the BBC that he is due to be executed today. Hundreds of people have been arrested by the regime in a violent crackdown since demonstrations erupted at the end of last year. The US president is understood to be weighing military and other options, having already announced 25% tariffs on any country trading with Iran. Meanwhile, the latest death toll of anti-government protesters killed by Iranian authorities has risen to 2,400, according to human rights groups. |
