This week's recipe: 'Addictive' Brussels sprouts

Christmas is nearly here, and you’re likely thinking about recipes for your festive dinner. One of the classic side dishes is Brussels sprouts, but these vegetables have got a bad reputation.

Sprouts are delicious, but they need to be cooked correctly for them to shine. Many people choose to cook their sprouts with bacon, but this means any vegetarians at the table miss out. With the addition of one simple ingredient, your Christmas sprouts will be crispy, crunchy, salty and delicious.

Gousto Chef, Sophie Nahmad, has shared her recipe for the perfect Brussels sprouts, which she brings to a whole new level with the addition of Parmesan cheese. She also smashes them to create that perfect crunch.

Sophie said: "Many people think they don’t like sprouts, but they’ve just never had them cooked properly.  Smashing them creates those gorgeous crispy edges, and a generous snowfall of Parmesan adds that nutty, salty depth. They come out golden, crunchy and genuinely addictive. It’s a guaranteed crowd pleaser."
