The charges against the 24-year-old include 15 counts of murder, 40 of causing grievous bodily harm with intent to murder, one of committing a terrorist act, and one charge of causing a public display of a prohibited terrorist organisation symbol, police have said. Akram was critically injured during the attack, and had his first hearing from his hospital bedside, the court said. His father Sajid Akram, 50, was killed in an exchange of fire with police at the scene. The case has been adjourned until April. |

|
| | | It is estimated the market in Europe will be worth more than £2bn ($2.66bn) by 2033. Credit: Getty Images | Last week, the BBC reported on a sperm donor who unknowingly harboured a genetic mutation that dramatically raises the risk of cancer, and has fathered at least 197 children across Europe. The revelation was a rare insight into the booming sperm donor industry. But is the sperm of some donors being used to make too many babies and does the industry need to be reined in?
