I’m a longtime fan of the music of twins Katie and Allison Crutchfield, from their late great band P.S. Eliot, to separate endeavors like Swearin’ and Waxahatchee. So I was excited when they announced a new album under the name Snocaps. The band’s also a supergroup with recent collaborators MJ Lenderman and Brad Cook, and they meld crunchy guitars, country-tinged pop melodies and introspective lyrics to stirring results. Snocaps recently played one of my favorites, the bittersweet anthem “Coast,” on The Tonight Show, and I was thrilled to see them share the stage again while entering this new era. — Producer Mike Katzif |
