What a year it has been. The other day I was writing my editor’s letter for the December/January issue and found myself reflecting on what we have achieved, where we have travelled and the people we have met across 2025. It was a long and rather wonderful list of special moments. There was the opening of our Paris bureau, shop and café. The launch of three new books. The Monocle Quality of Life Conference in Barcelona was probably the best event we have ever hosted – and I had the joy of being on stage to interview a host of incredible people on everything from walking sticks to foreign affairs. And then there was the arrival of our new annual, the Monocle Design Directory.
All of these events and print treats have been produced by an independent publishing house that pushes for excellence and follows its own path. It can only do all of these special things because of the support given by our amazing readers. That’s why we think it would be a wonderful way of spreading the word even further if we could encourage you to give a Monocle subscription to someone important in your life this Christmas.
