This week was f*cking stressful.
A bunch of shit went down with my YouTube channel.
Long story short: YouTube removed one of our videos.
Not demonetized. 100% DELETED.
They claimed we violated their "harmful content policy."
The whole thing has been insane.
But that's not even the scary part.
If this happens two more times, our entire channel gets deleted.
Years of work. Hundreds of videos. Gone.
I'm not telling you this for sympathy.
I'm telling you because today was a lesson.
There's risk on EVERY platform.
YouTube. Instagram. TikTok. Facebook.
Anything you don't own can disappear tomorrow.
And that risk can be business-threatening.
Look, these platforms are amazing for growing an audience.
I've used all of them to grow Starter Story.
But there's nothing – NOTHING – like owning your own thing.
Something you 100% control.
Something you 100% built.
Something that is 100% yours.
Sure, there's still risk.
But it's a hell of a lot less risky than relying on a platform for your entire business.
I learned a hard lesson.
But I'm a better entrepreneur today than I was yesterday.
