Join Us and Say 'Yes' to "25 for 2025"

Dear Educate Fairfax Supporter:

Did you know Educate Fairfax exists solely to support Fairfax County Public Schools students, educators, and families? We are a community connector, bringing together educators, families, businesses, and partners to meet challenges and create opportunities in real time.

Last year, thanks to your generosity, we invested $1.27 million back into our schools. Through programs focused on three core pillars — student access and opportunity, teacher and staff support, and alumni and community engagement — we help create pathways to success for every student.

One of our most impactful initiatives, Educate Fairfax Grants, reached more than 36,000 students across 100 schools and centers last year. This fall, we received a record 258 applications from 136 FCPS schools. Yet for every project we fund, another innovative idea must be turned away. We can only support about half of the requests we receive, and that is why your partnership matters.

Giving Tuesday is Dec. 2

Giving Tuesday is just around the corner and offers a powerful opportunity to make a direct impact. A gift of any size on this global day of generosity helps ensure students have access to innovative learning opportunities, educators have the tools they need, and our community continues to thrive.

If you believe in innovation, strong public schools, and equitable opportunities for every child, we invite you to join us. As 2025 comes to a close, we are reflecting on what truly unites us: our shared belief that every child deserves the chance to thrive, that educators should feel supported, and that our community is stronger when we stand together.

Be Part of our "25 for 2025" Giving Challenge

Whether you give $25, $250, $2,500, or $25,000, your generosity fuels innovation, lifts up educators, and helps every student reach their potential.

Since Nov. 1 we have raised nearly $90,000, but we need your help to reach our goal by the end of the year. Giving Tuesday is the perfect moment to make your gift and help us say yes to more students and educators across all 199 FCPS schools and centers.

Educate Fairfax Featured on the Think Bigger Voices Podcast

We are excited to share that Dr. Lynette Henry, Executive Director of Educate Fairfax, was recently featured on the Think Bigger Voices podcast with host Jennie Treby.

In this inspiring conversation, Dr. Henry explores how strategic partnerships, community investment, and a shared belief in every child's potential can transform outcomes for students across Fairfax County Public Schools.

Dr. Henry reflects on her journey to the United States from Barbados with only $200 and two suitcases, and how that experience shaped her commitment to ensuring students in need have access to the resources and encouragement that help them believe in themselves.

The episode highlights the impact of meaningful school and community partnerships, including:

  • Connecting students with mentors, volunteers, and college and career resources
  • Expanding wraparound supports to boost attendance, increase reading achievement, reduce discipline referrals, and strengthen belonging
  • Building pathways from the classroom to future careers through business and industry partnerships

Dr. Henry also shares Educate Fairfax's strategic approach to supporting 183,000 students across 199 FCPS schools, including:

  • School supplies and essential needs
  • Food security initiatives through our Food for All campaign
  • Health and vision support
  • Scholarships and educator grants
  • Our growing Innovators Fund

She also shines a light on the power of business and community partnerships, including our collaboration with the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority and Think Big for Kids, to help build pathways from the classroom to future careers.

This conversation is a powerful reminder that intentional investment, trust, and creativity in education can change lives and expand opportunities for all students.

Dr. Henry’s message is clear: imagine the best for every child and work together to make it possible. When we do, doors open.

Did you know that one in three Fairfax County Public Schools students faces food insecurity?

Educate Fairfax launched the Food for All campaign this spring to help close that gap. By working alongside local partners, we are ensuring students have the nourishment they need to stay focused and thrive in school.

Here's how your support is making a difference:

  • Weekend & holiday meal bags: Students take home nutritious food they can rely on outside of school hours.
  • Community food kit packing events: Volunteers and partners assembled hundreds of food kits for FCPS families.
  • Thanksgiving partnership with FCPS Food & Nutrition Services (FNS): Kids eat free, and Educate Fairfax covers all adult meals so families can enjoy a warm holiday meal together. DONATE TODAY>>

This work reflects a shared belief: When a student is fed, supported, and cared for, they can learn, grow, and thrive.
