Congratulations to our Girls Volleyball team on their first ever VHSL Class 6 State Championship! Thank you to everyone who supported the team this season!
Come and support your Spartans in the Occoquan Region Championship against Lake Braddock on Saturday, 11/29 at 1:00pm! Gates open at 12:00
See below for game day procedures with additional safety measures. These new measures were created in coordination with FCPS high schools, the FCPS Office of Safety and Security, and local law enforcement. There is additional information below that is specific to the West Springfield Community.
- Entrance to the stadium at the main lower stadium gate ONLY. Those who require a wheelchair accessible entrance may report to the upper gate.
- Everyone attending the game will need to pass through the OpenGate weapons detection system. This is the same system that middle and high school students use every day during morning arrival.
Students in grades 9-12 that attend West Springfield or Lake Braddock will need to:
- Check-in with their student ID at the table in front of the main lower stadium gate to obtain a wristband that identifies them and wear the wristband while in attendance.
Any student in grades 9-12 under the age of 18 who does not attend West Springfield or Lake Braddock will need to:
- Check-in at the ID check table in front of the main lower gate stadium entrance to receive a wristband that identifies them as not being from either the home or away school, which they must wear at all times.
AND
- Stay with a parent or guardian for the entire game. A student without a parent or guardian at the game will not be admitted. There are no exceptions. (Parent/guardian will be asked to scan a QR code providing contact information upon arrival.)
All elementary and middle school students must:
- Check-in at the ticket gate with parent/guardian.
- Parent/guardian will be asked to scan a QR code providing contact information upon arrival.
- Be accompanied & supervised by a parent/guardian while at the game. A student without a parent /guardian will not be admitted. There are no exceptions.
Purchase tickets ahead of the game to avoid waiting in line and arrive about an hour before a game starts to give yourself extra time to go through OpenGate and check-in. (Occoquan Region Football Finals West Springfield vs. Lake Braddock)
If you or your student plans to come, please take the time to discuss the relevant information below:
- The main lower stadium gate will open at 6:00pm.
- No backpacks or other bags will be allowed in the stadium.
- No outside food or drinks are allowed.
- Whistles, air horns, and similar noisemakers are prohibited.
- Elementary & middle school students MUST be accompanied and supervised by a parent/guardian at all times.
- If you leave the game, there is NO RE-ENTRY into the stadium.
- NO ENTRY into the stadium after ticket sales close. (typically the start of the 3rd quarter)
- The purpose for students who attend our varsity football games is to watch the game.
- We cheer for our team and not against our opponent. All cheers should be positive.
- All students need to leave immediately following the game.
Our goal is to create a positive community event. Any behaviors that take away from this goal may result in removal from the game.
Thank you for your partnership in helping your child follow these new measures. We also ask that you remind your child about appropriate behavior while they are at a football game.
