Lakeside Book Company Buys B&T Distribution ArmThe book manufacturing giant Lakeside Book Company has acquired distributor Baker & Taylor Publisher Services, an important asset of the library wholesaler. The purchase includes the print-on-demand operation located in BTPS’s headquarters in Ohio.

Lectorum Publications to ShutterThe nation’s largest independent distributor of Spanish-language books will close its operations after more than 60 years in business, with its inventory of approximately 700,000 books scheduled for auction on December 4.

First Book Marks 25-Year Partnership with PRH, Sets 2030 GoalLiteracy nonprofit First Book and Penguin Random House, which together have distributed 42 million books to children in need, held two virtual events last week, one with Magic Tree House author Mary Pope Osborne and the other on reading for pleasure.
