ACPD Reminds Drivers to Click It or Ticket
The Thanksgiving holiday will be here before you know it. Before you get on the road to visit family and friends, ACPD reminds the public of the importance of buckling your seatbelt. During the Thanksgiving holiday weekend in 2023 (6 p.m. on Wednesday, November 22, to 5:59 a.m. on Monday, November 27), there were 309 passenger vehicle occupants killed in traffic crashes across the nation. Of those, 44% (135) weren’t wearing seatbelts. ACPD is partnering with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for their Click It or Ticket campaign because one of the safest choices drivers and passengers can make is to buckle up.
Drivers nationwide will see more law enforcement on the road from November 22 through November 30 as part of the high-visibility seat belt enforcement campaign which focuses on reducing the number of fatalities that occur when vehicle passengers fail to buckle up. Remember: buckle up every time on every ride.
