Message from Mrs. Castillo

Matching Day

Last week students & staff appreciated a full 5 days of learning.  Thank you to all families who attended our Annual Family Night!  We had record attendance with staff sharing activities focused on both math & literacy.  The Book Fair was busy all week helping families & teachers update their libraries.  We are so grateful for the donations from our PTA and generous families that allowed many students a free book from the fair.

On Friday, I enjoyed catching all our students & staff that participated in Matching Day, joined morning meeting with Mrs. Thompson & Ms. Johnson's 1st graders, and spent a specials' block with Mrs. Kellogg's class participating in Strategy Lab games.

We ask for your support in completing the annual FCPS Impact Aid Form if you haven't yet.  The form is available in SIS ParentVUE under Online Packets, which is in the upper right corner of the screen after logging in and a paper copy was sent home to anyone we were still missing forms. Please complete it as soon as possible. This year, FCPS expects to receive approximately $4 million in Impact Aid funding. These funds are used to support all Fairfax County public schools and centers.  For more information, visit the Federal Impact Aid Survey page.

As we head into the Thanksgiving holiday, Ms. Ulsh and I would like to share our appreciation for our amazing school community. This season of gratitude gives us a chance to reflect on all the things we’re thankful for. We wish you a safe, relaxing, and joyful Thanksgiving filled with time to connect with family and friends.
