Dear Lake Anne Families,
We loved having our Dolphins for a full week of school this week! As a reminder, next week we will observe Thanksgiving Break, and there will be no school Wednesday, November 26, through Friday, November 28. We look forward to seeing our Dolphins back in school on Monday, December 1st!
As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to our Lake Anne community. This week, we had the joy of celebrating Thanksgiving together at our school lunch on Tuesday, welcoming family members of many students and serving over 614 people! Your support and participation made the event so special, and we are grateful for the sense of connection and community that you help create.
With sincere thanks for your partnership and support,
Mrs. Jill Stewart, Principal
Mrs. Valencia Chenier, Assistant Principal
Mrs. Leslie Grumbach, Assistant Principal

Parent/Community Volunteers for Composting with Students
Can you come to school during lunch time for 2 hours to help students collect food scraps to take to the courtyard composting bins? If you enjoy a few wiggly worms and enthusiastic students, this could be the most fun you have all day!
Please make sure you've cleared the FCPS screener for volunteers before signing up. Training available during your first shift.

Questions? Contact Sra. Warner at cewarner@fcps.edu.
Fishpond at LAES
Our beloved fishpond in Courtyard #1 is in need of restoration, as an invasive iris is taking over and leaving the fish with reduced space. Are you knowledgeable about such things? Please reach out to cewarner@fcps.edu.
Stormwater Garden/ Pollinator Meadow
The “wild” space between the art classrooms and the preschool playground is an important ecological reserve. During the winter, the plants will die back, but it is important to avoid compacting the soil by walking through it. Community volunteers have recently weeded it. Please assure that all our Dolphins walk around the “meadow.” Thank you!

¡Gracias!
