Roblox adds selfie age checks as chat access tightens

Roblox has begun enforcing mandatory age checks for users who want to access chat features, starting in the Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand and expanding globally in 2026. The system requires users to verify their age with an ID or a video selfie, using age estimation technology from Persona. Roblox also is introducing age-based chat to limit interactions between age groups.
