I have had running on the brain. It’s not just because I’m working on a hands-on of Fitbit’s new AI-powered Personal Health Coach, updating the Best Fitness Trackers, or interviewing skyrunner Kilian Jornet for a new Starter Pack, although yes, I’m doing those things too. Running fixes most problems, work- or holiday-related. Jay-Z, Imma let you finish, but 99 percent of 100 problems could be fixed by everyone just drinking water and going outside a bit more.

If it’s hard to squeeze a little walk or hike into your day, we also wrote a new gift guide for gym bros and updated our gift guide for bird lovers. Every year, like clockwork, REI launches its not-Black-Friday sale a week before Thanksgiving. I always re-up on base layers, socks, and rain jackets for my kids, but I may upgrade to a new camp stove this year. It took 30 (30!) minutes for water to boil on my cheap butane stove.

Has the man in your life recently decided he’s going to make wooden tables as a hobby? Yeah, me too. How many tables does any one household need? So many. Get him this circular saw and then check out our Gift Guide for Manly Men. |
We just updated our guide to the Best Binoculars, and these Viper binoculars are our best high-powered pick. It’s more than you’d want to spend for someone who is just getting into birding, but if your loved one likes hunting or stargazing, this is the best pick.
