Today's starting lineup

The Houston Rockets crafted their identity predicated on toughness. They don’t always shoot well or execute beautiful basketball, but they can win on physicality and effort.

So it was with disdain that Rockets coach Ime Udoka delivered a scathing rebuke of his team’s performance after the Rockets’ 121-110 loss to the Spurs. “Didn't handle physicality, didn't handle traps,” Udoka said plainly. “They were a tougher team, kind of punked us out there and out-hustled us.”

It was a much happier postgame for UH after the Cougars stopped a late UCF rally for a 30-27 win.

“We didn’t play great. We made some critical mistakes throughout the game,” UH coach Willie Fritz said. “The kids really, really played hard. I saw that from the beginning of the game to the end of the game.”
