Can Bryn Mooser Sell Hollywood on AI? |
It’s not tough to find generative-AI haters in Hollywood, a town whose rank and file are largely skeptical of the technology even as their corporate overlords tentatively embrace it. Perhaps those minds can be changed by Bryn Mooser, founder of “ethical” AI-company Asteria. Rebecca Ford sat with Mooser for a revealing conversation about Hollywood’s potential future, one in which the producer swears AI can be used to augment and help filmmakers, not replace them. He likens Asteria to a teaching hospital, where he can help those who don’t know much about AI see the possibilities behind the new technology: “Even when I’m bringing people through and they’re like, ‘Fuck AI,’ I can promise them that when they leave, they’re not going to be scared. They’re not going to be as angry.”
