Democrat Zohran Mamdani was elected mayor of New York City on Tuesday. Mamdani defeated former Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Republican Curtis Sliwa. He will replace Mayor Eric Adams, who sought reelection as an independent but dropped his bid in September.
