First “SWAG” Student Recognition of the 2025-2026 School Year
We are excited to announce the return of our SWAG Student Recognition Program. SWAG stands for “Students with Awesome Growth.” Each month teachers from different departments recognize students for their hard work, perseverance, and commitment to making a positive impact at Carson.
Mr. Washington had the pleasure of celebrating the first nominees of the school year this past week. Each student was brought up to the podium to learn why they were nominated by a teacher and received a certificate and SWAG bag. Congratulations to these students for having Carson SWAG: Leo, Abigail, Elias, Aarohi, Dominic, Siddharth, Priyanka, Or, Arush, Nik, Declan, Julia, Riley, Ashlee, Ishaan, William, Adam, Adel, August, Hannah, Iniyan, Paige!!! A picture of these students is proudly displayed outside of the cafeteria for all to see.
Congratulations, Panthers!

Picture Retakes Friday, November 7th! |
We are reaching out to our community to find volunteer speakers who are military veterans—parents, family members, or close friends—to share their experiences with our students here at Rachel Carson Middle School on Thursday, November 6th from 9 – 10:15AM. If you or a family member is a veteran and would be willing to participate, we are seeking to film brief presentations that are approximately 5 minutes in length, focusing on your service, experiences, and the meaning of Veterans Day. Your video segment will be added to a larger video that will be shared with students during Panther Time on November 12th. This is a wonderful opportunity to share your story and inspire our young people. Additionally, we will offer a military-connected family breakfast.
If you are interested in volunteering your time and experience, please complete this Google Form no later than Wednesday November 5th. Your generosity and commitment to educating our students are deeply appreciated. We look forward to a meaningful and respectful Veterans Day program.
