How Diane Keaton Became an Unforgettable Style Icon |
A free spirit unaffected by trends, she sidestepped the Hollywood glamour machine. We should all be so bold |

Few in Hollywood can claim the singular personal style of Diane Keaton, who died Saturday at the age of 79.
Admired for her independence and individuality throughout an expansive six-decade career as an award-winning actor, bestselling author, photographer, director, producer and interior designer, Keaton remained an eccentric free spirit unaffected by trends in fashion — and an inspiration in how to be true to yourself.
“The goal is to continue in good and bad, all of it,” she said in a 2012 interview. “To continue to express myself, particularly. To feel the world. To explore. To be with people. To take things far. To risk. To love.”
