In the world of luxury travel, first class is increasingly the domain of the middle class. Economic uncertainty has people spending less on posh goods, but expensive travel and experiences are still booming. We explain why.  

And in other news, Donald Trump’s campaign of retribution continues apace. Yesterday a grand jury indicted Letitia James, New York’s attorney-general and a longtime foe of Mr Trump, on mortgage-related fraud charges. That follows perjury charges against James Comey, a former FBI director who also antagonised the president. Both cases seem flimsy. If they fail, Mr Trump’s revenge agenda may end up looking like a series of nuisance lawsuits.
