As the pace of life speeds up and wellness gets trendier by the second (the $7 trillion wellness industry is booming), the real question becomes: How do you come back to yourself?
In her experience as a longtime entrepreneur and creative force behind The NOW Massage, Gara Post, believes that finding stillness is powerful. Having spent years exploring what it really means to feel good—beyond trends, filters, or 10-step routines—today her rituals are non-negotiable.
In our conversation, Gara opens up about her go-to rituals, what helps her reset on chaotic days, and why creating space to care for yourself (even for five minutes) can change everything.
You’ve created several businesses in your career—what makes The NOW special?
When we set out to disrupt the massage space in 2015, we saw a void in the marketplace for high-quality massage services in a design-driven setting without the time commitment and cost of a traditional spa. We wanted to create an oasis that made massage convenient and easy to incorporate into one’s self-care routine. The NOW has reimagined the approachable luxury of a neighborhood spa with high-quality massages and custom enhancements that offer relaxation and healing.
Do you have a trick to reset when your morning or day doesn’t go according to plan?
As the Co-founder and Chief Creative Officer of a growing wellness brand, every day looks different. Throughout the day, I like to prioritize moments that bring me back into the now, whether that be through a quick five-minute meditation, a walk, or a matcha break with our team. These small moments shift my perspective and remind me that balance can be found in even the busiest of days.
Is there one product, tool, or habit you swear by to make you feel good every day?
As a busy mom and entrepreneur, I sometimes find myself getting caught in my head. No matter how much life experience we have, moments of imposter syndrome can still creep in. When I notice negative thought patterns starting to take over, I turn to therapy, journaling, and meditation to set a positive intention. These simple practices ground me in the present moment and help me refocus my energy on what truly matters.
At night, I like to unwind with a 30-minute infrared sauna session. The benefits of this practice include decreasing inflammation, aiding in pain relief, and improving muscle recovery.
What is your relationship with wellness right now?
In the ever-evolving wellness space, staying at the forefront of trends, especially in the digital age of platforms like TikTok, can be challenging. Personally, my wellness rituals are non-negotiables for me. Some of my favorites right now include monthly massages at The NOW. My go-to service is our 80-minute NOW massage with Gliding Cupping, Hemp Calm Balm, and Deep Tissue enhancements. A few of my other favorite self-care practices include a Soul Guidance Session with Spiritual Teacher Todd Savvas, a personalized facial with Camille Fields, and time to move my body with The Class by Taryn Toomey.
If your current chapter had a title, what would it be?
I would call this chapter of my life The Inspiration Era
