Testing, Testing - Can We Get Your Feedback?

Arlington County has been testing a number of transportation tools to improve safety between people sharing the road, or decision-making before circling for parking. Take a look at some recent pilot projects below and give us your thoughts on how they've been working for you!

VZ - Downhill Bike Lanes - Clarendon Blvd & 16th St N

1) Downhill Bike Lane Pilot

This summer, Arlington County's Vision Zero team launched the Downhill Bike Lane & Right Turn Conflict Pilot Project to address potentially high-risk conflict points when a person driving makes a right turn across a downhill-sloped bike lane.

The four locations in the pilot are:

  • Clarendon Blvd & 17th St N
  • Clarendon Blvd & N Scott St
  • Clarendon Blvd & Driveways Across from N Troy St
  • Wilson Blvd & N Manchester St

Have you traveled through here? Tell us what you think online by September 26.

2) Feedback on Metered Parking in Arlington

From now through October 5, the Performance Parking Pilot project team wants your feedback on your experiences and preferences using metered parking during the pilot project. (Plus, watch a video about the project, and see events to learn more with the team.)

What is the Performance Parking Pilot? The Performance Parking Pilot Project seeks to make metered parking more available, more often through pricing changes and parking data information, to reduce the negative impacts associated with the search for metered parking. (Like double parking, cruising, erratic driving, etc.) Right now the project is focused on the Route 1/Richmond Highway corridor and the Rosslyn-Ballston corridor.

VZ - Arlington Blvd Highland St

3) Arlington Blvd. & Highland St. Median Closure Pilot

Earlier this spring we announced a pilot project that would close the median of Arlington Boulevard at Highland Street to keep people from making dangerous turns, ahead of future improvements by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).

How has it worked for you? Share your thoughts online by September 26.
