Family members recognized Tyler Robinson, the man accused of killing Charlie Kirk, and helped facilitate his arrest, law enforcement officials said today.

  • Robinson's father encouraged his son to turn himself in, AP reports.
  • The family "did a great job of helping him come to a positive resolution to turn himself in," Beau Mason, Utah's public safety commissioner, told The New York Times. "He was very compliant" when officers arrived to arrest him.

Robinson was arrested on suspicion of aggravated murder. He could face the death penalty.

  • Officials said they believe he acted alone.
