What to expect from Treasury's tax credit guidance
The Treasury Department is due to release new tax credit eligibility guidance that BloombergNEF estimates could put more than 2,500 wind and solar projects at risk. Although the specifics have yet to be released, Rhone Resch of Advanced Energy Advisors warns that many projects "aren't going to be able to adapt to these new deadlines."

Watch this space: To sort out changes to tax credits and help make sense of new tariffs, Jessica Libby, Principal at KPMG Trade and Customs, will be making a return appearance next week on the Renewable Energy SmartPod.
BLM scrutinizing wind, solar transmission lines
Transmission lines that support wind and solar projects are facing increased Bureau of Land Management scrutiny under a recent Interior Department order, but that doesn't mean that they won't be able to find a path forward, writes Jael Holzman after speaking with the BLM. Based on those conversations, it appears that projects are only subject to enhanced reviews if they're tied to a specific wind or solar project. NV Energy's Greenlink line is not -- and it's expected to secure a record of decision next month.
How an antiquated Oregon policy is harming renewables
Oregon activist Irene Gilbert has used a decades-old liberal policy to challenge renewable energy projects, including wind farms and transmission lines. The policy, originally intended to slow nuclear power, has created a cumbersome approval process that allows for endless public appeals. Gilbert's efforts have highlighted the difficulties faced by renewable energy developers in Oregon, a state that ranks near the bottom for green energy growth despite ambitious climate goals.
Ariz. regulators vote to repeal renewables standard
The Arizona Corporation Commission has voted unanimously to begin repealing the Renewable Energy Standard and Tariff. The standard requires utilities to get 15% of electricity from renewable sources by 2025. "The ACC's actions send the message that Arizona is closed for business when it comes to renewable energy," says Itzel Rios-Vega of Vote Solar.

Court says only GAO can sue over Trump fund freezes
A federal appeals court has ruled that only the Government Accountability Office can sue over President Trump's decision to withhold congressionally approved funds, handing the White House a significant legal victory. The decision overturns a lower court order to release frozen foreign aid and strips cities, states, and nonprofits of standing to challenge similar funding freezes.
