I hear this excuse all the time.
“Every good idea is already taken.”
“It’s too late.”
“There’s nothing new left to build.”
Don’t get me wrong… I get it.
The internet is full of noise.
But IMO, this is a scarcity mindset that prevents people from shipping.
Because if you spend 10 minutes browsing online…
You’ll see a different reality:
People are building cool sh*t every single day.
Most of them aren’t solving anything groundbreaking.
They’re just... shipping.
I'm realizing this with my new app I've been building, Moat.
There are tons of people building in this space right now.
But that's actually a really good sign.
(there is clearly demand for this).
I'm attacking the problem from a slightly different angle/perspective.
And I think that's enough to win.
Trying to find "perfect" is the easiest way to stay stuck.
Weeks go by.
Nothing.
Months go by.
Nada.
And soon enough...
Another year goes by without building or making progress.
But here’s the good news:
You don’t need a world-changing idea to start building.
You just need to build… something!
One project. One small win. One app that works.
Because once you build one thing, you flip a switch.
You realize: “Oh... I can do this, too.”
And you'll build the skill that unlocks every idea going forward.
