Zelensky to meet Starmer ahead of Trump-Putin summit

Ahead of talks between Trump and Putin to discuss ending the war in Ukraine, Starmer has said Ukraine's "territorial integrity" has to be protected and international borders "must not be changed by force". Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is expected to meet Starmer at Downing Street this morning, in what will be a carefully co-ordinated show of support from the UK. Trump joined a call with European leaders yesterday. Shortly after, Zelensky said the US was willing to continue its support for Ukraine.

Nervous wait for A-level, T-level and BTec grades almost over
|
|
Students in England, Wales and Northern Ireland will receive A-level, T-level and BTec National results today. The number of students getting top A-level results is expected to be similar to last year, after years of flux due to the Covid pandemic. The head of the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (Ucas) has predicted a record number of pupils will get into their first choice of university.

UK cases of mosquito-borne virus more than double
|
|
The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has reported more than 70 UK cases of a mosquito-borne virus. Chikungunya can cause sudden fever and long-term joint pain and is normally only found in Africa and southern Asia. The number of cases is more than double that reported in the same period last year. The UKHSA is warning travellers to take precautions against mosquito bites. Read more.
