Waterside Place in Lakewood Ranch continues to expand—the newest addition is a gastropub called Allswell, which opened early this week. Married duo Darren Shore and Tory Delaney moved to Lakewood Ranch from New York City a few years ago and set about flexing their longtime restaurant skills in their new home.
Delaney and Shore also own The Malt House, a two-restaurant mini-chain in New York City with locations in Greenwich Village and the Financial District. And like its New York City cousins, Allswell features elevated but approachable bar food with a few flourishes.
For example, you’ll find roasted bone marrow, carne asada steak tartare and wild mushroom toast as starters alongside bar favorites like chicken wings, onion rings and a Scotch egg. There are classic entrées like cheeseburgers and fish and chips, but also asparagus and sweet pea tagliatelle and pan-seared cod and mussels.
The new restaurant has a full liquor license and offers specialty cocktails and craft beers, which can be sipped on the spacious 80-seat patio or an equally large indoor space with plenty of air conditioning. It’s open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., with a brunch menu coming soon.
Allswell is located at 7500 Island Cove Terrace, Suite 102, Lakewood Ranch. For more information, call (941) 233-5448 or click here.
