President Donald Trump is set to meet with Russian leader Vladimir Putin at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, a military base crucial to countering the Soviet Union during the height of Cold War that still plays a role aiming to counter Russian threats.
The Mendenhall River crested and began dropping this morning as a glacial outburst sent billions of gallons of water coursing through one of the most populated parts of Juneau.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Scott Turner were the latest in a string of members of President Donald Trump’s cabinet to visit Alaska this month.

It's mostly cloudy today with a chance of rain and a high near 61 degrees. The forecast calls for a chance of rain tomorrow as well, but we should see partly sunny skies on Friday. Daytime highs will climb into the high 60s by the end of this week.
