National Guard troops are hitting the streets in Washington, D.C., to carry out President Donald Trump's directive to address crime in the nation's capital.

A senior Army official confirmed that some troops were deploying with D.C. police and that their mobilization marked the beginning of the deployment of 800 National Guard members.
