The Lionesses have made history as the first England footballers to defend a major title after a
nail-biting victory over Spain at Euro 2025. Sarina Wiegman's side held the world champions to a 1-1 draw after extra time, with Chloe Kelly - hero of the last Euro final - hitting the winning spot-kick in the penalty shootout. On a night of remarkable stories, it emerged that full-back Lucy Bronze had
played the entire tournament with a fractured leg. King Charles said the team were "awesome", while Prince William and Princess Charlotte, who watched the match in the stadium in Switzerland, said
they "couldn't be prouder". Today the Lionesses will attend a reception at Downing Street before celebrating their win with an open-top bus parade in central London tomorrow.

Ten million people could have been sent the highest level alert, giving up to 35 seconds of warning. Instead only 469 serious warnings were sent for the first 7.8 magnitude quake. Google says it's improving its system.
