Gary Tinterow shares his favorite things to do in Houston

Gary Tinterow has thought about it and thought about it. No matter how he slices it, there’s just no way his perfect day doesn’t include meetings, an indulgent lunch, and perhaps even an after-hours event on campus at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, where he serves as the director and Margaret Alkek Williams Chair. In his defense, Tinterow was raised in Houston and is an alumnus of Bellaire High School.

“I love my job, and the reason I live in Houston is because of my job. It all revolves around the museum and all the different aspects of museum life that I can participate in,” he told the Chronicle. “My best day in Houston can only be the museum.”

Here’s a sneak peek into his best day in Houston:

  • French Workouts

  • Gazpacho

  • Local Arts
