Hi, friends! Hey, what are you doing on Aug. 9? If you're a runner, may I recommend the Georgetown to Idaho Springs half marathon? It's one of my favorite races, and this will be its 47th year. The course elevation drops from 8,500 feet at Georgetown Lake to 7,500 feet at the Idaho Springs ballfields, mostly on the Interstate 70 frontage road. It's very scenic, and I
'm always amazed how runners hardly notice the interstate or the vehicle noise it creates. Runners park in Idaho Springs and take buses to the start. It's often very chilly at the start, and it's likely to be pretty warm at the finish. Trust me, if you haven't done it, and you do it this year, you'll be back for more. Heads up High temperatures in the metro area are forecast to hit 93 degrees on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

Born feral on the streets of Denver, Otis is a Colorado cat through-and-through. He can go from being downright mean to super-duper-sweet, and we couldn't possibly love him any more than we do," owner Andrew Miller writes Want your pup to be featured in Dog of the Week?
