10 deals we’re eyeing for ourselves |

Though Prime Day — Amazon’s (now four day-long) concocted shopping holiday — has technically just kicked off, our deals experts have already scanned hundreds upon hundreds of discounts. And of the select few that have met their exacting standards, several have caught your newsletter editors’ eyes in particular. Below, the deals that are popping off in our team Slack channel:
This luxe hair oil — one of the many very good beauty deals we’re seeing right now — smooths frizzy strands and adds a nice, glossy sheen to locks. It’s made with a blend of lightweight and nice-smelling oils that really deliver on shiny (but not greasy) hair.
These merino wool felt coasters, a favorite in our guide to the best housewarming gifts, come in a range of beautiful colors that won’t fade, even after years of use. And they absorb condensation quickly — perfect for drippy, ice-cold glasses.
Newsletters editor Brittney Ho, who has been on the hunt for some casual jeans to round out her summer uniform of white sneakers and cropped tees, is eyeing this versatile straight-leg pair from our guide to the best women’s jeans. (And if you’re in the market for wide-leg instead, we’re big fans of these also on-sale Levi’s.)

This rich gel, which lathers up into a “gossamer of light bubbles,” stood out as a great face wash for normal and combination skin during our rigorous testing. The formula smells lovely and leaves skin smooth and moisturized.
It’s hard to go wrong with these iconic New Balance ’70s-inspired mesh and suede sneakers, unanimously beloved by our panel of white-sneaker testers. Head of newsletters Sofia Sokolove, who already owns a pair, says they are so versatile, she’s considering grabbing another today — perhaps in the pretty linen and black color. She especially loves them for looking cool but staying comfy when traveling.
This Nordic Ware Bundt pan, beloved by our kitchen expert, is sturdy, nonstick, and made of a thick aluminum that distributes heat evenly and leaves cakes perfectly golden brown. Newsletters coordinator Isoke Samuel says she’s grabbing one today with her sights set on fall dinner parties: “I’m fantasizing about presenting guests with a stunning sculptural cake that didn’t require any real labor on my part,” she says.
These cool and discreet earplugs (yes, cool) are easy to put in and comfortable to wear. Newsletters editor Haley Jo Lewis considers her pair a summer staple. “They’re a little sparkle for the inner ear,” she says. She likes that they protect her hearing and dampen sound enough at loud venues without completely blocking everything out. “You know, for when my friends might ask me if I’d like another drink. Wouldn’t want to miss that.”
It may be because we have been click-clacking since the sun came up this morning, but this fancy mechanical keyboard — one of Wirecutter’s favorite Bluetooth keyboards — is speaking to us. The highly customizable keys are extremely satisfying to type on, and it even comes with snazzy lighting to zhuzh up your desk.
We think this iconic wool blanket would look gorgeous sprawled out on just about any bed or couch. Also? It will last forever — and would make an excellent buy-it-for-life gift. Gifts editor Hannah Morrill recently nabbed her father’s 40-year-old blanket, and she says after a good dry-clean, it looks nearly brand-new.
A soundbar is the easiest, most affordable way to get a cinematic sound experience at home. Several of our soundbar picks are on sale right now, but newsletters coordinator Allyson Waller is eyeing this simple-to-use one as an affordable upgrade for her at-home movie nights.
