We are hope you are enjoying the summer months. We are looking forward to the start of the 2025-26 school year and are in the midst of summer planning. If you are moving over the summer and your child will not attend RCMS next school year (2025-2026), please complete the form using the link below. Panthers and Future Panthers: Please view our Rachel Carson Website for back-to-school information. We hope that you are receiving the Carson News You Choose emails to better acquaint you with our opening events and plan for the school year. If you are not, the information link is provided here in this email. During the school year we send weekly communications on Tuesday. It will be important for you to scan these for any events and updates that may occur during the school year.

Summer Resources
Summer Resources Help Students Stay Curious, Healthy, and Busy
FCPS’ Summer Resource Guide has activities and tips on a variety of subjects and interests from camps to health and safety resources. Be sure to check back over the summer, as more resources may be added.
Learning Doesn’t Take a Vacation — and Neither Does Fun!
FCPS’ Summer Learning webpage offers ideas and strategies for families to keep students curious until August. Summer is the perfect time to help your student explore new interests, reinforce concepts, and stay engaged!
Free Virtual Mental Health Consultations for Parents and Secondary Students
This summer, the FCPS Office of Intervention and Prevention Services will offer free virtual Mental Wellness Consultations from June 23 through August 1. Any FCPS parent, or middle or high school student, will have an opportunity to schedule a 45-minute consultation with a school psychologist or school social worker by phone or videoconference. Summer Laptop Use & Return
Students who are enrolled in a summer learning program should return their laptop and charger to Carson immediately following the completion of their summer program.
All equipment must be returned no later than Wednesday, July 30, 2025.
Please make sure that your child’s charger is labeled with their name.
Laptops and chargers should be returned to the Main Office at Carson. Summer Office Hours are 9 AM to 1 PM.
Please note that students who do not return their laptop and charger will not receive a laptop at the start of the 2025-2026 school year whether they are still at Carson or have moved on to high school.
