As Alex Bregman inches closer to returning from the right quad strain that has sidelined him for over six weeks, he continues to approach his rehab “day by day.”
Speaking to reporters following the Red Sox’ 9-3 win over the Rockies on Monday night, Bregman said he feels ready to play — but acknowledged the need to stay patient, even as his timeline has dwindled from a matter of weeks to just days.
“I’m trending towards a return here really quickly, whether it’s end of this week or first game after the [All-Star] break, one of those two. But hoping that it’ll be the end of this week,” Bregman said.
