03 July 2025 - The Gangwon 2024 Winter Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee (YOGOC) has reported that its operating budget from the successful delivery of the Gangwon 2024 Youth Olympic Games (YOG) shows a surplus of KRW 1.85 billion (approximately USD 1.4 million). The International Olympic Committee (IOC) will contribute its share of the surplus, KRW 0.37 billion (approximately USD 0.3 million), to the PyeongChang Legacy Foundation in order to reinforce the development of youth sport and the long-term benefits of the Games in the region.

The IOC considerably supported the success of Gangwon 2024 with an investment of USD 34.1 million.
