| Heat continues today, 4th of July forecast shaping up great |
Yesterday was quite the day, with summertime heat and storms for many folks here in the Commonwealth. But as we look ahead, we have a few more wrinkles to iron out in the forecast before some great weather settles in for the holiday weekend. As we move through this Wednesday, a cold front will slowly move east, giving way to mostly cloudy skies and a few showers/sprinkles toward the Cape and the Islands. Otherwise, much of the Greater Boston area will see gradual clearing today with some peeks of sunshine. However, the front will not cool us down immediately. In fact, high temperatures will be in the mid to upper 80s. Low temperatures will drop into the upper 60s overnight. |

Safety concerns grow as hundreds of sanitation workers continue striking in Mass. |
Hundreds of thousands of residential and business customers in at least 14 towns in Massachusetts are impacted by an ongoing sanitation worker strike, and some of those communities have been told to not put their trash or recycling out until this strike is settled. About 450 Republic Services employees, who are members of the Teamsters Local 25, are walking the picket lines, fighting for better wages and better benefits. “We’re paid the least amount of all the trash companies in this area,” John Forcellati said. “They claim they’re the second largest trash company, they’re here for their employees but they’re not showing us any love at this point, it’s pretty much that they don’t care.” |
