As summer has officially descended upon Fairfax High School, we hope all our students and families are beating the heat, staying well-hydrated, and engaging in activities that truly motivate them! Whether you're exploring new hobbies, spending time outdoors, or simply recharging, remember to prioritize your well-being.

As we look ahead to the next school year, we also want to remind all families about the new FCPS cell phone policy for high school students, which stipulates that students will only be able to access their phones during their designated lunch periods. Please continue to discuss this important change with your students, as phone usage in hallways and during class transitions will no longer be permitted. On a positive note, we are excited to share that all students will have access to their own lockers next year, providing ample space for personal belongings and reducing the need for heavy backpacks. We believe this will be a beneficial addition to our morning Open Gate Screening protocols as well.

This summer the FHS Admin Team is engaging in their own summer reading fun. We are reading Standards Based Shifts, The Anxious Generation, and The Way to Inclusion. We can’t wait to deepen our own learning for the upcoming year.

Enjoy these precious summer weeks, and we look forward to welcoming you back refreshed and Ready to ROAR in the new year!
