Dear Centreville Elementary Community,
I am thrilled to announce that Mrs. Katy Truba has been appointed as the new assistant principal of Centreville Elementary, effective July 9, 2025.
Mrs. Truba brings a diverse and impressive background to this role. She began her career as an elementary school teacher, instructing students across a range of grade levels, from kindergarten to 6th grade. She then transitioned into an instructional coach role, where she was instrumental in improving language progress for multilingual learners and increasing standardized scores in math and science. Most recently, she has served as an educational specialist, supporting schools throughout the division.
Mrs. Truba holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s in education from the University of Pittsburgh and completed her K–12 Administration and Supervision certification through UVA. We are confident that her leadership and dedication will be invaluable to our school community. We invite you to extend a warm welcome to Mrs. Truba at our first July Cookout on July 8, 2025, where you will have the opportunity to meet her. We are all looking forward to working with Mrs. Truba to continue fostering a positive and successful learning environment for our students.
Sincerely, Jen Killingsworth Principal, Centreville Elementary School
