2025 Product Calendar — The U.S. Census Bureau has posted anticipated release dates for each regular and recurring statistical product scheduled for release in 2025. These products are listed in the Census Bureau’s online product calendar, which is updated as needed throughout the year.
Demographic
2024 Survey of Income and Program Participation — The U.S. Census Bureau will release data from the 2024 Survey of Income and Program Participation (SIPP) detailing the income and assistance program participation of individuals and households in the United States. The SIPP is a longitudinal survey, one that collects data from the same individuals or groups repeatedly over an extended period of time and measures changes in characteristics like economic well-being, family dynamics, education, assets, health insurance, child care, and food security. (Scheduled for release July 24.)
Household Trends and Outlook Pulse Survey — The U.S. Census Bureau has expanded data collection for the experimental Household Trends and Outlook Pulse Survey (HTOPS) to almost 30,000 households. This expanded sample size will allow for data to be released at a subnational level. Launched in January, the HTOPS is a successor to the Household Pulse Survey (HPS). HTOPS will continue the strong tradition of the HPS by providing rapid insights into national events that have socioeconomic impacts on U.S. households.

“Persistently Poor, Left Behind and Chronically Disconnected” — The U.S. Census Bureau and the Local Employment Dynamics (LED) Partnership in collaboration with the Council for Community and Economic Research (C2ER) and the Labor Market Information (LMI) Institute, welcomes Kenan Fikri as he presents, “Persistently Poor, Left Behind and Chronically Disconnected.” Join our presenter as he explores how commuting patterns at the local and census tract levels reveal the extent to which a place is disconnected from the progress of its neighboring areas. Using the Longitudinal Employer-Household Dynamics (LEHD) Origin-Destination Employment Statistics (LODES) data, which provides detailed statistics on the flow of workers between home and work tracts, he uncovers patterns of economic isolation and connection. (Scheduled for July 9.)
Annual Integrated Economic Survey to Release First Data — The U.S. Census Bureau will release the first set of data from one of its newest surveys, the Annual Integrated Economic Survey (AIES). The AIES which replaces and integrates seven annual business surveys into one survey, provides the only comprehensive national and subnational data on business revenues, expenses and assets on an annual basis. (Scheduled for release July 31.)
2025 Local Employment Dynamics Save the Date (September 3-4) — Join us for the 2025 Local Employment Dynamics (LED) Partnership Workshop, a hybrid event bringing together data users, researchers and policymakers to explore the latest in employment dynamics and workforce analytics. This year’s sessions will spotlight updates to the Longitudinal Employer-Household Dynamics (LEHD) data products and tools, including new features, enhanced capabilities and innovative applications. Whether attending in person or virtually, participants will gain valuable insights into using LED data for decision-making, planning and policy development. Virtual attendance is open to all participants. In-person attendance is limited to Washington, D.C., metro area federal and state partners. Mark your calendars and stay tuned for registration details coming soon. Further details and an agenda, when available, will be posted on the LEHD website. Business Trends and Outlook Survey — The Business Trends and Outlook Survey (BTOS) measures business conditions on an ongoing basis. BTOS experimental data products are representative of all employer businesses other than farms in the U.S. economy. The data allow greater insight into the state of the economy by providing continuous, timely information for key economic measures. Data are released biweekly and are available by sector, state, employment size and the 25 most populous metropolitan statistical areas.
Monthly Business Formation Statistics — Business Formation Statistics (BFS) provide timely, high-frequency data on business applications and employer business formations monthly. The data are available at the state, regional and national levels, and by industry sector at the national level. The next monthly BFS will be released July 10 and will include June 2025 data. The U.S. Census Bureau publishes updates in the Federal Register to keep the public informed about surveys, censuses and related activities. Some notices include a comment period during which the public can provide feedback. 2030 Census
Webinar on 2030 Census Disclosure Avoidance Research — A webinar held June 23 discussed disclosure avoidance research plans for the 2030 Census. The research focused on designing and improving the statistical safeguards the Census Bureau will use to protect the confidentiality of census responses in the published data products.

Vintage 2024 Population Estimates for the Nation, States, Metropolitan and Micropolitan Statistical Areas, and Counties by Age, Sex, Race and Hispanic Origin and for the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and its Municipios by Age and Sex — June 26 — The U.S. Census Bureau released Vintage 2024 population estimates by demographic characteristics. Internet tables and detailed downloadable files show annual population estimates between April 1, 2020, and July 1, 2024, for the nation, states, metropolitan and micropolitan statistical areas, and counties by age, sex, race and Hispanic origin, and for the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and its municipios by age and sex.

2023 County Business Patterns — June 26 —The U.S. Census Bureau released the 2023 County Business Patterns (CBP). The CBP provides annual subnational economic data for employer businesses (those with at least one paid employee) by 2- through 6- digit North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) industry. These data include the number of establishments, employment during the week including March 12, and first quarter and annual payroll at the national, state, metropolitan/micropolitan statistical area, combined statistical area, county, ZIP code, and congressional district levels for nearly 1,000 NAICS industries. Data for Puerto Rico and the Island Areas are also available at the state- and county-equivalent levels.
Commodity Flow Survey Provides Data on the Nationwide Shipment of Goods — June 26 — The U.S. Census Bureau released data from the 2022 Commodity Flow Survey. The survey, a partnership with the U.S. Department of Transportation, Bureau of Transportation Statistics, is the primary source of national, state and selected metropolitan area statistics on domestic freight shipments. It provides information on the origin and destination, value, weight, mode of transportation and distance of commodities shipped. Data are available for the nation, states, the District of Columbia and selected metropolitan areas.
New Post-Secondary Employment Outcomes Data — June 26 — The U.S. Census Bureau released new data on outcomes of graduates. PSEO tabulations show earnings and employment outcomes for graduates of U.S. post-secondary institutions and are generated by linking graduate transcript records to Longitudinal Employer-Household Dynamics wage data. This information offers prospective students a comprehensive assessment tool to find out how much they could potentially earn by degree and institution. The Census Bureau conducts the PSEO in cooperation with higher education institutional systems to examine college degree attainment and graduate earnings.
Census Bureau Releases Quarterly Survey of Public Pensions — June 26 — The U.S. Census Bureau released the Quarterly Survey of Public Pensions (QSPP) for the first quarter of 2025. The QSPP provides data on the financial holdings of the 100 largest defined-benefit public pension systems. Defined-benefit plans provide a specified benefit in retirement.
LODES in the LED Extraction Tool — June 25 — The U.S. Census Bureau released the 4.0 version of the LED Extraction Tool. This update adds access to the LEHD Origin-Destination Employment Statistics (LODES) dataset. The LED Extraction Tool enables streamlined access to the raw public-use data produced through the Local Employment Dynamics (LED) Partnership. This easy-to-use tool provides comma-separated value (CSV) files for the exact variables and characteristics requested by users.
2023 Nonemployer Statistics Marine Economy — June 18 — The U.S. Census Bureau recently released the 2023 Nonemployer Statistics (NES) estimates of the U.S. Marine Economy. NES provide economic data for businesses that have no paid employees, are subject to federal income taxes and have receipts of $1,000 or more ($1 or more for the Construction sector). Nonemployer establishment counts and receipts estimates are provided by nonstandard state- and county-equivalent geographies comprised of selected coastal regions across each state, and by the Economics: National Oceanic Watch (ENOW) sectors, defined by the Office for Coastal Management at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The ENOW sectors include tourism and recreation, ship and boat building, marine construction and transportation, offshore minerals, and living resources such as fishing.

2015 Census Tract Identifier — This application was developed to allow individuals and businesses to determine their census tracts according to census tract boundaries as of 2015.
