The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) approved an amendment to the “Minnesota Prepaid Medical Assistant Project Plus (PMAP+)” section 1115 demonstration. This amendment gives the state authority to extend eligibility for Medicaid benefits for individuals under age 26, who turned 18 on or before December 31, 2022, who were in foster care under the responsibility of any state or a tribe in another state and were enrolled in Medicaid when they “aged out” of the foster care system. In addition, this amendment enables the state to enroll individuals into the eligibility group serving former foster care children, regardless of whether they are eligible for or enrolled in a separate mandatory eligibility group.
This demonstration is effective through December 31, 2028. Today’s approval and other administrative documents can be found on the Medicaid.gov demonstration page.
