Hi, movie fans!

It’s time for the big reveal! Nos. 1-20 of the 100 Best Movies of the 21st Century have finally been published.

We won’t spoil it for you; scroll through the list at your leisure. But here are a few interesting tidbits for you to consider as you read. For starters, there are no streaming titles (the one Netflix production on the list got a decent theatrical run first). Nor are there any films from 2020. The disruptions of the past few years didn’t seem to change what our voters valued.

And it’s interesting to see the number of comedies and foreign-language films co-existing side by side. Again, it’s an indication that what film industry professionals hold in esteem isn’t always what you think.

That’s all for now. Peruse the list, explore the celebrity ballots, and fill out your own ballot. Then check back next week to see the list of readers’ top films.

In the meantime, enjoy the movies!
