Summer Sprint in the Park: Family Friendly 5k and 1 Mile Fun Run (9 a.m.)
Enjoy a family friendly race course on grass, trails and roads at Lake Fairfax Park in Reston. There will be prizes for the top three male and female 5K finishers. Registration is $5 per runner or $10 per family.

Preparing for Disasters (10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.)
Learn what to do when disaster strikes in this workshop at the Kings Park Library in Burke. Fairfax County faces many hazards, including major storms, hurricanes and power outages. The first 20 people to register will receive a disaster supply starter kit.
Pride Flag Beads (2 - 3 p.m.)
Create something new with pride flag colored pony beads at the Thomas Jefferson Library in Falls Church. Make a chain, bracelet or keychain. Materials will be provided.
Whatever It Takes: Ellis Island (2 - 3 p.m.)
Join us for a virtual event to hear stories from some of the 12 million immigrants who passed through Ellis Island between 1892 and 1954. Ellis Island offered them a chance to achieve the American dream for themselves and future generations.
Sheep to Shawl: Weaving (2 - 5 p.m.)
Learn how to warp a loom as part of Pohick Regional Library's Sheep to Shawl series. Start weaving by contributing to a community art project and leave with a small cardboard loom and materials to make your own project.
Chinese Culture Club: Learn to Make Kung Pao Chicken (4:30 – 5:30 p.m.)
Learn how Kung Pao Chicken made its way from China to the United States, and enjoy a delicious tasting at the Dolley Madison Library in McLean. All activities will be in both English and Chinese Mandarin.
