A letter from our editor:
I believe contentment has much to do with knowing what the season's priorities are, and for my family right now, it's budget-friendly fun and simple pleasures. With the exception of a short weekend trip to a friend's baby shower, this summer we're all about romanticizing local outings and simple, summer fun at home. The time to travel will come again (we did a cross country road-trip last year with our 1 and 3 year old!), but this summer we're embracing anything that is easy on our budget and our nervous systems. Hello steady rhythms, being in nature, and low-key gatherings around the fire pit in the backyard.
Ahead you'll find a favorite recipe for homemade popsicles, the brand I'm considering (new or secondhand!) to help save my pest-ridden garden, and the nontoxic paint our editor loves that I just might have to drench my own home in, too.
May we remember that summer fun doesn't have to mean expensive or complicated, and that the best memories are often the simple, understated moments at the end of the day when our bodies are exhausted from the sun and we're watching her dip below the horizon, enjoying the last moments of lingering light. ✨
Warmly, Kate Community Manager

I can't seem to keep the pests away from my small garden, so I'm eying this cover system from Vego.

DECOR
I'm always planning simple home upgrades that won't break the bank — a fresh coat of paint might be just the ticket!

DIY
If you have kids, you likely have 3-4 half eaten bananas lying around. Make them into a frozen treat!

- We're considering upgrading our outdated window units with July's sleek AC system — and they're all $100 off right now.
- Our favorite brand for skin tint with SPF, ILIA, is running their highly anticipated friends and family sale now through June 13th! Save 20% sitewide (and 25% off orders of $125 or more), no code needed.
- Another low-maintenance way to refresh a space is by adding a new (or secondhand) rug. Revival's summer sale is a great place to begin if you're looking to save on a beautiful, grounding piece.
