Welcome to the Wednesday edition of the Big To-Do: Short Cuts, our midweek round-up of what’s going on around Boston, as selected by Boston Globe critics and writers.

Thursday

  • The Boston Public Art Triennial’s inaugural edition debuts, featuring more than 20 projects across the city. Here’s how to see them all.
  • Longmeadow native Meghann Fahy joins Julianne Moore, Milly Alcock, and Kevin Bacon in “Sirens,” premiering on Netflix.
  • Disney’s latest live-action remake, “Lilo & Stitch,” hits the big screen this weekend.

Friday

  • “United Shades of America” host and comedian W. Kamau Bell takes the stage at the Wilbur.
  • The new Paul Reubens documentary “Pee-wee as Himself” debuts on HBO.

  • Cambridge’s Club Passim hosts the 27th edition of the campfire. festival May 23-26.

Saturday

  • The Trisha Brown Dance Company hits MASS MoCA in North Adams.
  • Artists Take the Street Festival will showcase works from area artists at Malden Center.
  • The Newburyport Spring Fest sets up shop May 24-25, featuring a beer garden, live music, and more.



Sunday

  • Boston comedy veteran Lenny Clarke and some of his funny friends take over Giggles Comedy Club in Saugus.
  • Vote on which cocktail is the cream of the crop at Time Out Market’s Best Margarita in Boston competition.

Monday

  • Take advantage of the MFA’s free Monday admission for Bay State residents and explore the new “Van Gogh: The Roulin Family Portraits” exhibit.

Ongoing

  • Lyric Stage Company of Boston‘s production of “Hello, Dolly!” continues through June 22.

Last Chance

  • See the Memorial Day Flag Garden at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument through May 26.
