Welcome back to Your Midday Sun where tonight is the night. To paraphrase Phil Collins, are the Maple Leafs gonna make it right?

With Toronto on the brink of elimination, former Leafs captain and three-time 50-goal scorer Rick Vaive wonders if that buzzing in Mitch Marner's head is whether tonight's Game 6 will be his last as a Maple Leaf.

Marner may be "a hell of a player" but as one of the Core Four, they haven't gotten it done at playoff time, which likely means something — or someone — has to change.

That said, while defenceman Morgan Rielly gets why fans are upset, Terry Koshan reports, coach Craig Berube has a message for the team's angry supporters: "Believe, like our team believes."

Winning tonight is going to be a daunting task, but it's not impossible. The Leafs need to channel their so-called belief and show up — and if they're going to go down, at least go down fighting.

In another stunning development, a second jury has been discharged at the Hockey Canada sex assault trial in London.

This marks the second motion for a mistrial, the first time being three weeks ago when Superior Court Justice Maria Carroccia dismissed the first jury after a juror complained there’d been communication with one of the defence lawyers over the lunch break.

Fortunately, though, the trial will continue by judge alone, sparing the complainant from having to testify for a second time before a new jury.
Michele Mandel has the bizarre details of how jurors complained about a pair of defence lawyers.

The province is projecting a deficit of $14.6 billion this year, up from a forecast of $4.6 billion in last year’s budget, and a deficit of $7.8 billion next year.

Brian Lilley notes that while it could have been much worse, the budget also isn't fixing Ontario's fundamental flaws.
