Save the Date: Chantilly Academy FFA Grooming Event!

Chantilly Academy's FFA chapter will be hosting a grooming event on Saturday, March 8th.  Students from our Veterinary Science program will offer grooming services to the community to help raise funds for FFA events and field trips.  See the event flyer below for more information about services offered and pricing.  All clients must be up-to-date on their rabies vaccine.  Please plan to bring a proof of rabies vaccination at drop-off.

Chantilly Academy Highlights

blood drive

HOSA teamed up with Inova this week to host a blood drive.  Inova Blood Donor Services collected 79 units of blood and blood components, which will help save lives in our community.  Thank you to our HOSA officers, Health and Medical Science students and teachers, and our Ms. Scheibel who organized the blood drive!

We were thrilled to welcome three students from Marymount University's Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program to speak to our PT/OT students about their journeys to becoming physical therapists.

PT/OT students demonstrated their abilities in goniometry (measuring joint range of motion) and manual muscle testing this week.  


criminal justice

Level 2 Criminal Justice students completed domestic violence practicals this week.


med assist

Medical Assistant students practiced drawing blood using phlebotomy training arms.  


engineering

Students in our Engineering Systems 2 class have been working on building their own electric guitars using kits from Music for Life's STEAM Guitar Program.  This project was made possible by a generous grant from Educate Fairfax.  Stay tuned for more information about this project and the partners who have made it possible.

Our Pharmacy Tech 2 students have been busy completing their 130 clinical hours in pharmacies.  Pictured here, a student practices filling a prescription in the classroom lab.
